What is the Step Drill Tool used for?

The Crownserts step drill is used as the first tooling step when preparing a hole for Crownsert installation.

It prepares the stepped bore before tapping, helping create the correct hole geometry for the insert. The correct step drill is selected according to the Crownsert part number being installed.

After drilling, the hole is tapped, the Crownsert is installed, and the insert is swaged to lock it in place.
